July 14 - Off to Dublin
Our tour wraps up in Dublin
The alarm went off at 4:45. Showered, ate breakfast and headed to the tram for 5:44. At the airport went through security and stopped at the Caffè Nero for coffee and water. It was warm and I did not want a hot chocolate.
The plane flight was short and fine. Walked to the baggage claim to meet Andy and Michele. Went to the Dublin Express counter for tickets, then to Stand 2 for the 783 bus. We got off at the 3arena stop and dropped our bags. Andy and Michele's room was ready so they checked in and went up to their room. Since they had not eaten breakfast we headed to the Lemon Jelly Cafe and had brunch. Once done, we walked over the Ha'penny Bridge and headed to the Padison & Yule shop, then past the Molly Malone Statue as we headed towards Grafton Street. Went into a bookstore and Gywn found Miranda Hart's book. Michel found some earrings in the shop where Gwyn got her ring last year. Then over to St. Stephen’s Green Park and walked around, then back to the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. Decided it was time to visit a pub so we stopped at Sinnotts bar. I asked the bar tender if I could walk next door and get a hot chocolate from the Caffè Nero, but said that they don't allow outside drinks. It was time to check in so we headed on the tram back to Becketts Locke. Unpacked, and the dishwasher was already running. I went down for dishwasher and laundry pods since there were none. Gwyn then went down for coffee since the pods maker did not work, but you had to pay for the coffee.
Out again on the tram to the Old Mill Restaurant near The Temple Bar Pub. The beef Guiness stew was really good and smooth. After that we headed to The Temple Bar Pub since they had Andy's favorite, Harp.
Once done we headed back on the tram. The laundry was still going when we got back since we took the card out of the slot next to the door which kills the electricity.
